Creating Brand Guidelines [Asana]

I read three articles that talked about developing brand guidelines:
- https://design.tutsplus.com/articles/how-to-create-your-own-brand-guidelines--cms-24901
- https://www.canva.com/learn/your-brand-needs-a-visual-style-guide/
and after reading the three I formed a list of the guidelines that were most common within the three articles as well as the guidelines that I deemed most important overall. Here's what I came up with:
1. Color palette/ color scheme.
2. Personality.
3. Font/Type face.
4. Contents Page.
5. Graphics and photography.
6. Logo/ log placement.
7. Visually appealing.

I was assigned a blog/ website by my professor: https://asana.com/press and the assignment was to look for examples of how this website used the guidelines from the list that I have developed. With that being said, I feel that Asana uses a very simple color scheme on their page but it still reads fun and playful. This can grab the attention of their site visitors. The typeface used also has a "simple but chic" vibe to it. Their logo is easily found in the top left hand corner and is even shown in the icon of the address bar. They have plenty of photo on display and have icons to access different information throughout the site.

SWOT & Personal Branding

So, I got the chance to read the two articles written by Lisa Quast, SWOT: http://limestonedigital.weebly.com/uploads/1/2/7/7/12773739/swot.pdf and Personal Branding 101: http://limestonedigital.weebly.com/uploads/1/2/7/7/12773739/brandyourself.pdf and they were both very informal. SWOT basically was a general idea of how to conduct a personal analysis of your strengths and weaknesses. Branding 101 went more into depth of how you should brand yourself in a business aspect the trying to build your career. If I were to take one tip that I deem most important it would have to be to conduct your research. Many people aspire to go into fields not truly knowing what all it takes to make it to where they want to be. I feel this would personally help me because I can research what worked and what didn't work from from other peoples experiences.

Strengths:
- Socialite (Easy for me to make friends and get to know others).
- Not afraid to speak to people (Confident).
- Attentive to detail.
- Organized.
- Mature.
- Work well under pressure.

Weaknesses:
- Speech (tend to slur my words)
- Don't know exactly the steps to take after graduation.
- Procrastination.
- Need to work on being a vocal leader and not just leading by example.

Opportunities:
- Internships
- Speech classes

Threats:
- Many people will already know exactly what they want to do after school.

Branding Myself:
Hopefully people view me as being a very reliable person. Also fun and energetic and easy to work with.

What makes a good blog?

Out of all of the things that the class has come up with that we think makes a good blog, I have managed to dwindle that list down to only five. I chose these five simply because I feel that they all sum up what I feel makes a good blog. I also feel the other points are kind of like sub categories to the five that I have picked.

1. Graphics (Photos, videos, font types, etc)
2. Clean and presentable (Organized)
3. Informal (Helpful, content variation, links, etc)
4. Visual (Color scheme, organized, etc)
5. Easy access to important products (Popular, top sellers, etc)

Soccer Game

Focus on what you want in your photo.

Filling the frame.

The rule of thirds/ Filling the frame.

Symmetry.

Rule of thirds.

Zoom in.

With these photos I attended game and tried to capture things that were naturally happening within the environment of the game. One major tip that probably stuck out to me the most and that I tried to use was me knowing what I want in my photo and then focusing on that one specific thing. I feel I did accomplish my intended goal simply because these photos have different view points and you can tell what the central idea is for all of them.

Blogs I Like

https://www.wholefoodsmarket.com

- Visually Appealing (photos, good food, etc).
- Resources (Recipes, catering, party ideas, shopping online).
- Information and easy to navigate.

7 Powerful Photography Tips

1:  Fill the frame with what you like.
Get close to the image. The best zoom tools are your legs! Figure out what the photo is really about and get rid of everything else!

2: Simplify and Exaggerate.
Now that you've found what you want in your photo, make it stand out!

3: Don't center your objects.
Use the rule of thirds. Consider visual weight.

4: Create depth.
Make people feel they are staring inside of your photo.

5: Connect the dots.
Give viewers a visual joinery through your photo.

6: Perspective is everything.
Get up, get down, get on the ground! ANGLES!

7: Lighting is Everything.

8: Break the rules except number 1!
Experiment outside of the rules! Don't be afraid to get creative!

Photoshoot

I used a camera made by Cannon to take all three of these photos; I don't exactly know the specific type of camera considering it was a friend of mines.  However, to of my close friend were out enjoying the weather after Hurricane Florence by playing a game of tennis and decided to shoot their fun! Here it is!

Sweet Brown

Kimberley Wilkins, famously known as "Sweet Brown" was a victim of an apartment fire in 2012.  She has a very lively personality and during her interview about the fire it definitely began to show.  She is now famously known for many renditions of music videos from her renown line "ain't nobody got time for that!" I believe she became such an internet sensation because of how real she was and how positive she was able to remain even after this terrible situation. Since then, Sweet brown has gained many opportunities such as playing roles in numerous television shows, commercials, and even movies so I guess you can say her tragedy ended in a fairytale happily ever after.
